Careers & collaboration

Help build a more rigorous way to understand supplement evidence.

HERA is building a research-stage, evidence-first educational platform for supplement decision-making. The challenge is not simply collecting more studies. It is deciding which evidence deserves weight, structuring it reproducibly, communicating uncertainty clearly, and maintaining strict boundaries between education and medical advice.

We want to meet a small number of specialists who can strengthen the scientific, statistical, technical, and regulatory foundations of that system.

Immediate pre-launch priorities

Specialists we want to meet.

These areas directly support the current research platform and the evidence workflows we are validating next. They describe focused collaboration needs, not a large-volume hiring plan.

01

Clinical Data Engineer / Bioinformatics Specialist

Why this matters
Build reproducible pipelines that turn scientific literature into structured evidence records.
Core responsibilities
Normalize scientific metadata, reconcile DOI and PMID records, preserve provenance, and design validated relational extraction workflows.
Required expertise
Python; PubMed/NCBI, Crossref, or equivalent scientific APIs; reproducible ETL; data modeling; and literacy across RCTs, observational studies, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, confidence intervals, effect sizes, and bias.
Useful additional experience
Biomedical NLP, evidence graphs, schema validation, scientific ontologies, or carefully governed retrieval systems.
Current scope
Research-data infrastructure—not autonomous medical recommendations.
02

Applied AI / Scientific NLP Engineer

Why this matters
Develop reliable AI-assisted evidence processing without turning uncertain literature into unsupported conclusions.
Core responsibilities
Design structured extraction, deterministic validation, evaluation datasets, citation checks, uncertainty handling, and human review workflows.
Required expertise
Python; language-model APIs or open models; scientific text processing; prompt and evaluation design; hallucination analysis; retrieval concepts; and benchmark construction.
Useful additional experience
Biomedical abstracts or full text, PICO-style extraction, study-design classification, entity extraction, and model evaluation beyond demos.
Current scope
AI assists research processing. It is not a source of medical advice and is not trained on respondent health data.
03

Evidence Synthesis / Biostatistics Specialist

Why this matters
Define reproducible rules for how much confidence different forms of scientific evidence deserve.
Core responsibilities
Review evidence-weighting and extraction rules, establish uncertainty language, assess heterogeneity and bias, and prevent weak findings from being overstated.
Required expertise
Epidemiology or biostatistics; RCT and observational methodology; meta-analysis; effect sizes; confidence intervals; power; heterogeneity; publication bias; external validity; and risk-of-bias frameworks such as GRADE.
Useful additional experience
Experience translating statistical limitations into transparent product language and auditable evidence grades.
Current scope
Study count, citation count, and journal reputation alone are not evidence-quality measures.
04

Medical / Scientific Reviewer — Nutritional Biochemistry & Pharmacology

Why this matters
Review biological plausibility, nutrient-form distinctions, interactions, and scientific interpretation.
Core responsibilities
Review evidence summaries and deterministic rules, flag biological oversimplification, and define what the platform must not infer.
Required expertise
Relevant PhD, PharmD, or research-active MD background; micronutrient physiology, bioavailability, interactions, formulations, safety literature, study design, and scientific writing.
Useful additional experience
Clinical nutrition, physiology, molecular biology, pharmacology, or evidence-focused regulatory communication.
Current scope
Scientific review for an educational product—not individualized patient care.
05

Regulatory Affairs & Privacy Lead — Digital Health / Consumer Wellness

Why this matters
Maintain the boundary between evidence-based education and regulated medical functionality.
Core responsibilities
Review claims, consent, retention, deletion, third-party processing, and future concepts before implementation; define regulatory escalation triggers.
Required expertise
Swiss nFADP, GDPR, consumer health claims, EU medical-device boundaries, consent, research governance, and health-data minimization.
Useful additional experience
EU MDR, FDA General Wellness or SaMD concepts, and privacy review of scientific data systems where those regimes genuinely apply.
Current scope
Regulatory relevance is assessed precisely; HERA does not overstate HIPAA applicability or current clinical status.
Technical platform & communication

Expertise we are building around.

Full-Stack / Data Platform Engineer

Secure full-stack product engineering across a typed web application, relational research data, session authentication, RBAC, audit logging, migrations, and privacy-safe exports. The priority is correctness, provenance, testing, and careful evolution of the current architecture—not a rewrite.

Scientific Communication & Research Outreach Collaborators

Science writers, educators, researchers, journalists, and visual storytellers who can separate evidence, uncertainty, opinion, and promotion. We value responsible short-form communication and reject miracle claims, fear-based marketing, affiliate-first content, and scientific-sounding overstatement.

How collaboration works

Precise work, honest boundaries.

Collaboration may begin with a methodology review, scoped research project, technical assessment, or scientific communication experiment. We value documented reasoning, reproducibility, constructive challenge, and clarity about uncertainty.

Longer-term expertise

Future research directions—not current capabilities.

These areas may matter later, subject to scientific validation, privacy design, and regulatory review. They are not part of HERA's current public service.

  • Laboratory integration and data interoperability
  • Health-data security engineering
  • Clinical informatics
  • Advanced biomarker data science
  • Product and ingredient verification
  • Regulatory quality management
